What does LabelRun print?
One label per unit of a product variant, laid out on a sheet or a roll. Each label can carry the product title, the variant options, the barcode, the SKU, the price, the compare-at price (struck through), the vendor, a line of free text and — on Pro — your logo. Every element is switched on or off and positioned in millimetres in the template editor.
Prices are formatted with your store's own currency format. The barcode symbology is chosen automatically from the value: EAN-13, EAN-8 or UPC-A for digits of the right length with a valid check digit, Code 128 for anything else; you can also fix a symbology, or print a QR code instead.
Which label sheets and printers work?
Ten stocks are built in and ready to print: DYMO 30334, 30336, 30252 and 30332; Zebra 2 × 1 in and 2¼ × 1¼ in; Avery 5160 (30 per sheet), 5167 (80 per sheet), 5163 (10 per sheet) and Avery L7651 (65 per sheet, A4). Anything else is a custom template: give the label size and, for a sheet, the page size, columns, rows, margins and gaps, in millimetres.
Any printer works, because LabelRun never talks to a printer. It builds a PDF in your browser and hands it to the browser's own print dialog (or to Download), so there is no driver to install and no direct connection to a label printer. Load the sheet or roll your template describes, pick the right paper size in the print dialog, and print at 100% scale — never “fit to page”.
If your printer prints a millimetre off, the template's Calibration section shifts the whole page horizontally and vertically.
How do I print labels for my products?
Open Print. Search your catalogue by title, SKU or barcode, tick the variants you want and add them to the batch. Choose a quantity rule, the label template, the location whose stock counts to use, and — for a sheet — the row and column to start on, so a half-used sheet is not wasted.
Preview as often as you like: previews are never counted. When the sheet looks right, click Print to open your browser's print dialog, or Download the PDF to keep the file. Labels are counted against your plan at that click, and only then.
How do I print from an inventory transfer?
Open Transfers, pick the transfer you have just received, and print. Quantities come from what the destination location actually received — not what was ordered — so the batch matches the boxes on the floor without counting or re-typing. The same template, start position and preview options as a product print apply.
Printing from inventory transfers is included in the Pro plan. On Free, the Transfers screen shows what it does and where to upgrade; nothing is read from your transfers until then.
How are label quantities chosen?
One rule applies to the whole batch, then you can override any line in the table. The rules are: one label per variant; the available quantity; the on-hand quantity; the received quantity (transfers only); or a fixed number for every variant. Your default rule is set in Settings.
Inventory quantities are read at one location: the one you pick on the Print screen, or your default location from Settings. For a transfer, they are read at the transfer's destination. A variant with no stock at that location prints zero labels under a stock-based rule, and the table shows it as skipped rather than guessing.
Why is a label flagged, and what does “Prepare the missing barcodes” do?
The Print screen warns when some labels need attention. A variant with no barcode prints a “NO BARCODE” placeholder instead of bars, and is flagged. A value of 8, 12 or 13 digits whose check digit is wrong is printed as Code 128 so it still scans, and is flagged too. Any other value — letters, another length — is simply printed as Code 128, with no flag. The flags tell you which variants to fix in Shopify — or to hand to the barcode generator.
On the Barcodes page, “Prepare the missing barcodes” finds every variant with no barcode and decides a code for each, and “Write the barcodes” writes them: either an internal EAN-13 starting with your chosen prefix (20 to 29, the range GS1 reserves for in-store use — such codes scan at your own till but are not valid for Google Shopping, marketplaces or resale), or a Code 128 built from the SKU. Three rules are enforced: an existing barcode is never overwritten, a code already used anywhere in your catalogue is never reused, and the latest run can be undone for 30 days from the same screen. Large catalogues are written in chunks with a progress bar; you can stop at any point and what was written stays undoable.
How many labels can I print, and where do I see my usage?
The Free plan includes 200 labels per calendar month; the counter resets on the first day of each month (UTC). Pro has no monthly cap. Previews are free on every plan — only the Print and Download clicks count, and a batch that would go over the cap is refused before anything is counted.
The app's home page shows this month's count and your ten most recent print runs; the Print screen shows the same count next to the buttons. Once the month's free labels are used up, previews keep working (limited to the first page) so you can keep preparing sheets.
How do I upgrade, downgrade or cancel?
Plans, prices and billing are managed by Shopify, not by LabelRun. Open Settings → Plan and click “Choose a plan” (or “Change plan”): it opens Shopify's plan picker for this app in your admin, where the current prices are shown. Pro is available monthly or yearly and starts with a 7-day free trial; the charge appears on your Shopify bill.
To go back to Free, choose the Free plan in the same picker. Shopify ends the subscription when you uninstall the app. LabelRun never charges you itself, never sees your card, and only reads your plan from Shopify — the Settings page shows what it read, and when a trial ends.
Can I put my logo on the labels?
Yes, on the Pro plan. Edit a template, switch the Logo element on, upload a PNG or JPEG of 200 KB or less and place it like any other element. The image is stored inside the template, so each template can carry a different one. On Free, the Logo checkbox is disabled and notes that it is a Pro feature; upgrade from Settings → Plan to switch it on.
How do I save templates, and how many can I have?
Templates → New template starts from one of the ten built-in stocks or a custom size; adjust the elements, the calibration and the name, then Create. From the list you can edit, duplicate, delete a template or make it the default one that Print opens on.
The ten built-in templates are yours on every plan and do not count. On top of them, Free keeps three templates of your own; Pro has no limit. Your last template can never be deleted.
What data does LabelRun store, and what happens when I uninstall?
Only what it needs to print and to apply the plan: your store's domain and the access token Shopify issues, your templates (including any logo), your settings, this month's label count with one row per print run, and the barcode runs needed for Undo. No customer data — the app never requests the customer or order permissions — no payment data, and no copy of your catalogue: products are read from Shopify when you print and turned into a PDF in your own browser.
Uninstalling deletes the access token at once. Shopify sends the deletion request (shop/redact) 48 hours after uninstall, and LabelRun then deletes everything else. The privacy policy spells all of this out.
How do I get support?
Email the address below. Include your store's .myshopify.com domain, which screen you were on and what you expected — a screenshot of the Print screen's warnings helps most. The interface is available in English and French, and follows the language of your Shopify admin.
